Grocery Challenge - July Part 2

I know that the grocery part of my budget is where I have a huge leak of money, so last month and this, I have been making a concerted effort to keep this line item under $250 for our little family of three. I was afraid with our vacation and taking extra food with us that I would have problems keeping with $125 for the first half of the month, and while I went over that target, it really wasn't by much. Here is what I spent:

6/30 - Krogers $63.05
7/1 - Meijers $37.72
7/1 - Wal-Mart $ 1.50
7/1 - Aldi $20.14
7/7 - Krogers $ 9.91

For a grand total of $132.32, leaving me with $117.78 for the rest of July. My goal is to have that $17.78 left in reserved for end-of-the-month milk runs, so we'll see what I can do with $100. I haven't made out my lists yet; I still feel like I'm in catch-up mode from being gone 5 days, but hopefully I will have that done today as I'd like to hit the stores on the other side of town while I'm waiting for the kids to be done with youth group tonight. Anyhow, I'm pleased with how things are going so far. Hopefully I can say the same at the end of the month!
