It was 8 years ago this past weekend that we moved into this house. The twins were looking forward to starting 1st grade and only having a 5-minute walk to school instead of an hour bus ride. We were happy to start this new chapter of our lives being closer to family and my job, our church and our support system. Eight years later, it's still just the three of us, only the twins are now looking forward to their freshman year in high school. We have adopted 2 more cats and said goodbye to one dear furbaby and to my mom. We've done some remodeling and redecorating but still have a long way to go. I've changed jobs, and we have changed churches, one of the best decisions I ever made! The kids have participated in soccer, basketball and swimming, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and we've traveled all around Ohio and out of state. We're looking foward to more travel and fun adventures.
Many of these things have not gone "according to plan." I never planned to change churches, but that was a good change. I didn't really plan to still be in town at this point. And I had hoped that I wouldn't still be alone. But I am and we are, and we're still taking it one step at a time. It seems like just yesterday that we moved, yet it feels like we have been here forever. I guess time flies, whether you are having fun or not!
